History and Architecture:

The first St Mary's was a wooden structure built in 1866 on the same location as todays Church stands.

The work that was completed by 1877 embraced a Nave 28' wide by 15' long, intercepted by transepts 75' by 24' from which projected ar octagonal apse 28' by 22. The work was completed in 1889 by the removal of the older wooden portion of the nave and the construction in bnct of the remaining western part of the nave, entrances, tower and spire

The grand opening and dedication of the completes church was conducted on Pentecost Sunda'', 241h May 1890, with the principal celebrant being Right Rev Dr Pc:Mlle. D.D. CoAdjutor Bishop of Sandhurst and the Very Rev Prior Coleman 0 S.A was Master of Ceremonies.

A further brick church was added in 1890.
