In 1950, the hut was converted into the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, with the farmhouse as its presbytery.

A plaque reads, " This Church of Our Lady of Fatima was blessed and opened by His Grace The Most Rev P.M. O'Donnell D.D. Archbishop of Brisbane on Sunday June 5th 1966. B.T. McLaughlin P.P.".
