History and Architecture:

A small church was completed in 1876. The Parish of Ballina was created in the 1890's with Canon W A Dalton as the first Vicar. The Parish included Alstonville and Dalwood, Tintenbar and North Creek (now Lennox Head).

The church building on the present site of St Mary’s Ballina served almost thirty years. The replacement church building was dedicated in 1906. Specifications for the replacement of St Mary’s Church were finalised in 1995 with the new building being consecrated and dedicated on 6 th September 1998.
