History and Architecture:

The Foundation stone of the first church was laid in 1850 by Bishop Broughton. Construction was completed in 1854 and the church was consecrated by Bishop Barker in 1856.

The current Church was built of local granite and features some of the first gargoyles used in ecclesiastical buildings in NSW. The church foundation stone was laid in 1881 and was dedicated on 23rd June 1892. The Architect was Cyril Blacket.
