History and Architecture:
Built on a site selected by Governor Macquarie to a design of and by Francis Lawless. Completed 1823. A rare Georgian parish Church. A simple well proportioned sandstock brick Georgian Church. The clock by Tolhurst of London was installed 1838.

Organ:
The first organ in the church was commenced by Holroyd & Edwards in 1922. A new tracker action organ was built by J. W. Walker & Sons of England and was installed by the Australian branch of the firm in 1981. It has (2/12 mechanical).
