History and Architecture:
Built for £535, by Messrs Legg & Lampe the material for the church was carted from Arno Bay. The porch and vestry were added at a later date for £68.
A Heritage Board at the front of the Church reads, " The foundation stone of the Church of England was, laid on the 22 May 1913. Originally there was a picket fence with a high picket gate, then a hedge of rosemary and lantana and wire fence at the side.
In 1988 the church celebrated 75 years and the present stone fence was erected as a. bi-centenary event, enhancing the building. the Parish consists of Cowell, Cleve, and Kimba congregations in the Diocese of Willochra. Lock (St Anselm's) was included in the parish in 1990 and the name changed to that of Eastern Eyre Parish by which it is still known today, although the Lock church closed in 2005. The Church of England has been known as the Anglican Church in Australia since 1981. 1996, the 3 stained glass leadlight windows at the front replaced the opaque glass. Centre window depicts Jesus as the Good Shepherd and the other two are on musical themes, the left one showing a harp and the other a fanfare style trumpet.
St.. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church stands today as it was built all those years ago a beautiful architectural feature in the town of Cleve.

A Foundation stone reads, " To the Glory of God This stone was laid by The Ven Archdeacon Samwell May 22 1913". A wall plaque reads, " To God be the Glory Commemorating 100 years of worship in this Church Plaque unveiled by The Seventh Bishop of Willochra The Rt Rev'd John Stead May 26th 2013. A Foundation stone on the Church Hall reads, " Si Michael's War Memorial Hall To the memory of Parishioners who paid the supreme sacrifice in World War 1 and World War 2 Dedicated by The Rt Rev'd S.B. Rosier B.Sc M.A. 16th August 1970".
