History and Architecture:
Gala Kirk was built in 1845 & is the oldest church in Glamorgan/Spring Bay Municipality. As early as 1844, a meeting was held to build a church & as many of the residents were Scots, they decided on a Presbyterian Kirk. A gift of 5 acres of land was made by Adam Amos of Glen Gala.
The church was built by Mr Thorbury, a carpenter and J. Allen. It was a wooden structure built on a solid granite base.
The Church is to be put up for private sale in 2022.
