History and Architecture:
The church, is in the Gothic style and built in red and white brick with stone dressings, was opened in November 1891. The architect was Mr C.J. Polain and the builders were Messrs Jason Fraser and Son.
A Foundation stone on the Church reads, " This memorial stone was laid by James Cuming Esq Mayor of the City on Tuesday May the 26th AD 1891. H.F. Scott Incumbent C.J. Polain Architect Jason Fraser and Son Contractor". A Foundation stone on the tower reads, " A.D.M.G. This tower stone was set in position by The Rev T.A. Cair Th Schol Vicar of the Parish 21st August 1937. L.R. Williams Architect F. Deacoe and Sons Builders".
