History and Architecture:
A Heritage plaque on the former church reads, " The former church of Saint Saviour was dedicated on this site in 1862. The funds for its construction were raised by a committee that included prominent residents such as Osmond Gilles and Arthur Hardy. The church has since been rebuilt and the bluestone rectory located behind the hall, constructed in 1883, is now the oldest building in the complex. The parish hall of random bluestone was added in 1898. The stone buildings of the hall and rectory are typical examples of Australian neo-gothic ecclesiastical architecture".
A Foundation stone on the former church reads, " This stone was laid by Mrs Henry Scott July 23rd 1898". A further wall plaque reads, " This Church was dedicated by The Lord Bishop of Adelaide The Right Reverend Thomas Thornton Reed C.S.T.J. M.A. D Litt on 3rd November 1966 It replaces an earlier building which was erected through the generosity of Osmond Gillies Esq and dedicated on 12th December 1862".
