History and Architecture:

The Church was built by pioneer Catholics in the district in 1894, and was served from Westbury until 1986. Daniel Burke who helped the Irish exiles at Westbury and became warden of the municipality, presented and address to the Archbishop at the opening of the church in 1894.

The Church is a weatherboard building capable of seating about 800 persons. The main building is 50ft by 20ft, the nave 30ft by 19ft, and sacristy and chancel 12ft by 8ft. The plan was prepared by Mr Alex. North (of Messrs Corrie and North), and is a very creditable design. Mr Charles Sykes, of Rosevale, was the contractor. The cost was about £165.

The Bishop of Laranda and Co-adjutor Bishop of Hobart (the Most Rev. Dr. P. Delany) solemnly blessed and opened the building in the presence of a large congregation.
