History and Architecture:

The first Anglican service was held by Archdeacon Glennie at Wyaga in 1848, and there were station chapels at Umbercollie and Callandoon, it was not until January 1871 that public interest was raised to build a permanent church in Goondiwindi town.

The first church on the present site was dedicated on 23 April 1882 by Bishop Hale. A Foundation stone was laid by the most Reverend Gerlad Sharp D.D. Archbishop of Brisbane on 30 April 1930.

The Church was partly destroyed by fire in September 1942.

A Foundation stone reads, " A.M.D.G This stone was laid to commemorate the destruction of this church by fire on September 14th 1942. Its restoration and construction by the Most Rev R. G. Halse, M.A. Archbishop of Brisbane on May 7th 1944". The Church was consecrated in 1882
