History and Architecture:
In September 1962 tenders were called for a new Church and T F Woollan and Son Pty Ltd of Brisbane were successful on 24 September 1962 in obtaining the commission to build the church at a cost of £20,875. Work commenced on 2 October 1962.
The Foundation Stone for the new Church was laid by the Moderator Right Rev A R Wilson on Saturday 24 November 1962 at 3.00pm.
The first Church was built by Mr T B Price and opened by Rev Dandy in 1875. This Church served the people for almost 40 years. First Ministers lived with Mr & Mrs T Gibson in a house on the corner of Herbert and Winton Streets.
In 1914 a new and larger Church was built on the site, and the older 1875 building was moved over to the rear of the Church land, where it still stands and is being used by Goondiwindi Daycare Group. Then in 1962, the Church of 1914 vintage was demolished by a cyclone as it was being moved back to make way for the current Church.
A Foundation stone reads, " St Andrew's Presbyterian Church To the Glory of God this stone was laid by The Moderator The Right Rev A.R. Wilson B.A. 24 November 1962 - Minister Rev D.I. Munro".
