History and Architecture:
The church is a E. T. Blackett design, and is thoroughly Protestant in its design.
The village of Jamberoo was laid out in 1841 on Michael Hyam's property, on the southern side of the Main South Coast Road, and lots were given for church purposes. The Church of England property was at the western end of the main street and here, on March 31, 1842, Bishop Broughton licensed a school house, "lately built by private subscription and the Colonial Government". This weatherboard building with shingle roof was furnished with Font, Communion Table, Chalice and Paten.
It appears that Michael Hyam gave the use of the land on which the school house was built, though ownership of the two acres was not transferred to the Church of England until 1849, three years after R. H. Owen bought Hyam's grant. Robert Owen conveyed the church property to the Right Reverend William Grant Broughton, Lord Bishop of Sydney, for a consideration of ten shillings.
The stone for the church was obtained from Mrs Boyles farm Druewalla. The Foundation stone was laid on 15 March 1865 in the presence of 200 people.
