Messer's E & F Ratten donated 6 feet of land beside this new purchase which allowed for a frontage 79 feet.
In 1890 Sunday School hall erected in St John's Parade (later called the junior Hall) and by 1905 a hall was erected on the site of original wooden church which was sold and moved to Richmond.
The Foundation stone of the current church was laid on 14 October 1922 by Councillor F.R. Patten J.P. The church was opened on 9 June 1923.
