History and Architecture:

The Church was erected in 1862, the foundation stone being laid, on February 12th by Thomas Kendall, Esq. The Church was opened on Wednesday, the 3rd December, 1862 and the preacher was the Rev. J. A. Manton, of Newington College.

The plan of the Church originally was to have a gallery in the western end and a vestry on the northern side, but the Trustees did not proceed with these matters. In November, 1885 tenders were called to build the gallery into the church but the price of £202 was beyond the financial resources of
the trust.
