The Foundation stone reads, Marong Presbyterian Church To the Glory of God this stone was laid by The Right Reverend JAS Crookston Moderator September 2nd 1914 Rev A.I. Davidson M.A. Minister. John Ride O.E. Architect.
The name Marong is thought to have been derived from an Aboriginal word meaning a native or Murray pine tree.
