History and Architecture:
In January of 1882 the Reverand D. Brown arrived in Nathalia with his wife and child. His firs services were held in the State Schools of Nathalia and Narioka.
In 1884 the church building fund was augmented with various sums of money being promised. Land for the church had been donated by Mr Edward Pearce but heated controversy mounted due to the fact this location was in a low lying area.
By 1887 there was sufficient in the fund to accept a tender of £425 for the commencement of Holy Trinity Church in 1887. The first incumbent, the Reverend J. C. MacCullouch, left the year before without seeing the building and later became the Archdeacon of Melbourne.
Holy Trinity Church stands on a site quite separate from both the Rectory and Parish Hall which are on the other side of the river.
Built of bricks that have aged and mellowed with the years, Holy Trinity Church, in common with many others in the north-east, is subject to cracking as the earth opens up in the dry summer heat.
The church was officially opened on 6th November 1887.
