History and Architecture:

A Heritage board at the front of the building reads, " The foundation stone for St Alban's Church was laid by the Rev. Augustus Short, Bishop of Adelaide on 20th November 1873 on land donated by Mr G.C. Hubble. It was opened on 21st June 1874. At that time, the church was placed under the charge of the Rev. C.W. Hawkins, the incumbent of St John's Auburn. The first rector of the church was the Rev. W.H. Winter. The church hall was built in November 1905 and used for dances and fetes. From 5th April 1944 until April 1947 regular film nights were held by the Port Wakefield & District Progress Club using equipment bought with funds loaned by residents".
