History and Architecture:

The first recorded service of the parochial district of Red Cliffs was held on Sunday 14 May 1922 on church land n the open air, with the congregation of forty sitting on logs from the newly pulled trees.This service was conducted by the founder priest of the Parish the Reverend N.S. Fettell.

A Foundation stone was laid by Bishop of St Arnaud in December 1952 for the current church in a temporary setting and later moved to its current position.

The Foundation stone reads, " A.M.D.G. Church of St Mark Evangelist and Martyr built for the worship of God and for the teaching of the Catholic Faith This Foundation stone was laid by Allen Ernest Winter Bishop of St Arnaud December 7th 1952 Garth Y. Cracknell Rector".
