History and Architecture:
A Foundation stone on the church reads, " St Mary's Church consecrated by th e Most Reverend Bernard D. Stewart D.D. A.L.L.B. Bishop of Sandhurst opened for the public worship of God and the honour of the blessed Virgin by the same Bishop September 15th 1963 Rev Francis J Owens Pastor".
A Latin foundation stone reads "ecclesiae s. mariae hunc lapidem primarium benedixit ac posuitt bernarddus epus. sand" - which converted to english reads "The epus of St. Bernard blessed and placed this stone in the head of the church of Mary. sand"
