History and Architecture:

In 1883 the East Adelaide Land and Investment Company offered a site 150 by 150 feet for a church,' conditionally on the building being erected immediately. The Rev. Canon Arthur Dendy accepted the offer and shouldered the responsibility, not only of erecting and furnishing the church, but also of voluntarily providing his services for some time after the building had been com pleted.

The building is laid out in the form of a cruciform with nave. transepts. chancel. apse organ chamber. rector's and choir vestries. There is a projected gable ended entrance porch/nave. half gabled transepts and rear tower with metal clad spiral roof. The nave's gable end has a stepped parapet and large ornate arched tracery window in stained glass. Similarly ornate windows occur in transept bay ends. Door and window openings have semi-circular arches. The roof is hipped and gabled.

A white wooden construction was opened for divine service on All Souls' Day, November 2, 1883, by Bishop Kennion.

On May 31,1916, the present Bishop of Adelaide Dr. Thomas dedicated the building, and the church was consecrated on December 12th,1926. November 1933 saw the Churches Jubilee celebrations take place according to the Advertiser newspaper.
