History and Architecture:

The original St. Theodore's Anglican Church was built in 1899.

An Heritage plaque in front of the church reads, " Worship services were first held in this area in 1897 at the Rose Park School. Two years later the original St Theodore's Church was built on Gurney Road, now within the grounds of the school. This building is the new church constructed in 1914 to accommodate the growing congregation. Constructed of random coursed freestone, with red brick facings, this church was designed by South Australian architect Stanley Pointer of Woods Bagot & Jory in the Italian Romanesque style. Notable details include the brick semi-circle recess (apse) and the stained glass windows".

A Foundation stone reads, " To the Glory of God This stone was laid by Right Reverend Arthur Nutter Lord Bishop of Adelaide Feb 7th 1914". A Foundation stone on the Church Hall reads, " A.D.G. This stone was laid by Dr J.H.G. Drummond 7th Feb 1925".
