History and Architecture:
On 20th Feb. 1920 the Southern Cross reported that " matters were now so far advanced that Fr. Gurry has arranged for the laying of the foundation stone on Sunday March 7th at 3 p.m. by his Grace the Archbishop.
The Southern Cross newspaper described the great day. "The laying of the foundation stone of the new Catholic Church of St. Joan of Arc by his Grace the Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Spence took place on Sunday last, March 7th 1922.
The opening of St. Joan of Arc's Church arrived on 2 January 1921. The church was, in the absence of the Archbishop, blessed and opened by the Very Rev. Precentor Huley, attended by three visiting priests and Fr. Curry.

The Organ was built in 1903 by J.E. Dodd for Church of the Epiphany in Crafers. It was installed in 1963 at St David's Anglican Church Burnside by J.E. Dodd & Sons Gunstar Organ Works. Installed in 1984-85 at present location & revoiced by George Stephens. It has 2m, 6spst, 3c, tr. Gt: 8 divided 4.2. Sw: 8.8. Ped: 16.
