History and Architecture:

At a meeting, held on March 23, 1898 at the home of Mr. J.T. Brain to arrange for the building of a Wesleyan Church, those present were Rev. C.O. Lelean, Messrs Quaile, J. Geale, J. and G. Kerkharn, Brain (3) and W. Evans.

A piece of land was offered by Mr. Geale for a church site on the Sheffield Road. The building committee was to comprise Rev C.O. Lelean, W.C. French, J. Brain, W. Evans, J. and G. Kerkham and G. Williams. Mr George Williams (senior) was elected treasurer on April 15, 1898.
