History and Architecture:

Formerly a Presbyterian church the first services were held in the Shire Hall on 19 September 1869. During 1869 the Rev. T. M. Fraser and the Rev. J. Brownlie were commissioned to visit Winchelsea with respect to the formation of a charge there.*

The Church was official opened on 30 April 1871. The stonework was completed by W Lauder, Carpentry by J.H. Sarks and the plastering by Robert Marchain.*
