A plaque reads, " St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Yackandandah Built using local granite in 1872. Opened and Blessed by Fr. Patrick Moore 1868 - 1874 Plaque donated & erected by Catholic Community to celebrate Jubilee 2000 Blessed by Rev. Monsignor John White M.B.E., ADM., V.F".
