History and Architecture:
The original church was built in 1888 on 1 acre of land donated by Thomas Brayford. A £530 tender was accepted for the church to be constructed. Bishop Webber consecrated the church in September, 1888. The first Rector, Rev. Frederick Newton, served 1889-1891. The parish hall was built in 1897 and Rev. Henry Knatchbull built the Rectory and parish room in 1898.
The church celebrated its Golden Jubilee over a 10 day period. On Sunday, 11th Sept. 1938, 3 special Festival Services were held with large attendances and offerings amounted to £143 at the end of the day. After 68 years of service, the old church was replaced in 1957, by the church standing today. Features of this church are a copper spire 70 ft. high topped with a cross and the Holy Spirit Window. The 16 stained glass windows depicting local flora, fauna, natural landmarks and rural scenes are a memorial to members who served church and community in various ways.
The Foundation stone to commemorate the consecration of the church took place on 4 July 1965. It was conducted by the Most Reverend P.N. W. Strong Archbishop of Brisbane.
