The Church was established in 1886 and a noticeboard reads, " Built in 1886 in memory of Robert Coveny by Laidley and Mary Mort". ‘.. An interesting church with shingled walls (architect Horbury Hunt), modelled on a chapel at Bruges, Belgium.’
