The Foundation stone was laid on 22 November 1964 by the Right Reverend W.J. Russell V.G.
Vojtěch (Voitre) Marek was responsible for the copper figurines on the Church wall . He was born in Dolní Oldřichov in Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic, in 1919 and came to Australia in 1948. From 1962 to 1975, he worked full-time on ecclesiastical commissions for churches throughout Australia.
