History and Architecture:

The church was constructed circa 1886 by the Bible Christian Movement in an attempt to expand the Methodist faith in Queensland. Built of timber the roof is corrugated iron. While the date of the founding of the Brookfield mission is given as 1869 the title deeds disclose that land, 2 acres, 1 rood and 30 perches, was transferred to the Corporation of the Bible Christian Church, Brisbane circuit in January 1871. The Brookfield Church was one of two churches established by the Bible Christians in the area.

A foundation stone on the Hall wall reads, "Pioneer Memorial Hall Methodist Church, Brookfield. (Est. 1869) dedicated to the service of God, and to the memory of the Pioneers this plaque was unveiled by Rev G Nash, OBE BA Chairman of the Brisbane District on Sunday, 22nd February, 1970. Ministers: Rev I S Hiscock L Th (Supt) Rev R R Klein BD (local) Secretary of the Property Board, Mr J J White Treasurer: Mr R V Dickson Secretary of Leader's Meeting, Mrs C W Ronalds Opened by Rev C D Alcorn, MBE MA BD CF President of the Old Methodist Conference on Saturday, 6th June 1970".

A plaque on the entrance wall of the church reads, "This bell was donated by friends of Brookfield Uniting Church and dedicated to the glory of God by Dr John Roulston AM on 23rd February 2014".
