History and Architecture:
The Church was opened in 1862, five years after the first Anglican Services were held in the old Buninyong Police Court.
A historical wall plaque reads, " When the Irishman Rev. Garrett Russell arrived at Buninyong in 1857 as the first minister, there was no church or school. The original brick church-school at the rear was ready for school and services on 3 September 1857. The foundation stone of the Holy Trinity Church was laid on 12 November 1861. The architect was Henry Caselli of Ballarat. It was constructed of locally quarried blue stone, with a slate roof, and tirrilier ventilators on the tower, to the model of a small English country church. Holy Trinity was opened on Sunday 22 June 1862".
