History and Architecture:
The Foundation stone was laid on 16 December 1972 by Archbishop Thomas V. Cahill and reads, "This stone symbol of the Church was blessed and laid by Archbishop Thomas V Cahill Dec 16th 1972 Father B Lynch PP".
The Church was dedicated by Archbishop Thomas Cahill at 2.30pm on Sunday 24 March 1974 with a dedication ceremony and Mass. About 1,200 people witnessed the ceremony. The corner stone was laid on 10 December 1972 and construction of the Church continued thereafter with the opening 15 months later.
