History and Architecture:
The first Wesleyan Methodist church service in Eaglehawk was held in 1852.
In 1863 the foundation stone of the new Wesleyan church was laid, a bottle containing various information was placed with the stone. The Architects were Vahland and Getzachumann. Contractors Rolhurst and Shepherd. The Church was made of red and white bricks and is in Gothic style 50 ft x 30 ft, seating 300 persons. The windows were frosted glass with red and blue side panels.
In 1867 the Church was extended to its present dimensions with the choir in an elevated position behind pulpit and communion rail seating in nave and transepts. This allowed for seating of 500 people.
