History and Architecture:

In 1923 a church-school-hall was built by the Religious of the Sacred Heart in the grounds of Sacre Coeur. A house known as Valency, present day presbytery site, was leased by the Vincentian Fathers.

A Foundation stone reads, " A.M.D.G. This stone was blessed and laid by Most Rev D. Mannix D.D. Archbishop of Melbourne 13th February 1938. Rev P. Loughnan Parish Priest P.J. O'Connor Architect".

A wall plaque reads, " The Narthex of St Roch's was blessed and opened on 28th February 1997 by Very Rev Ian B. Waters ICD PhD Parish Priest James R Sadler Architects Tambry Developments Builders".
