History and Architecture:

Church services were held regularly in private homes at Glenreagh prior to the church being built. Records extend to 1898 and they show, at that time the whole area from Halfway Creek to Coffs Harbour was ministered by the Vicar from Coramba.

On the 29th May 1912 the foundation block for the new church was laid and it was noted that 120 people were present and 18 pounds 2 shillings and 7 pence ($36-27) went to the building fund. The Women's Guild was formed on the 4th September that same year and they are credited with greatly assisting with the funding needed to build the church.

The Church was built around 1914.

The first bell tower was erected by Charles Wright, and was dedicated on the 4th September 1927, at which time it was stated in an article in the Daily Examiner "that it was erected free of debt by the great organising ability of Mrs Elizabeth Simpson".

The concrete block was added in the 1950s by Horace Shipman and Bill Weller when the tower began to lean. The bell is thought to be a ship's bell. It was manufactured by Dank and Sons in Sydney and has the number 152 stamped on it.
