History and Architecture:

The first service of the Greensborough Methodist church was held in March of 1850, in, "Meagher's Barn" which refers to a barn that stood on the "Willis Vale" property of James Willis Mayger, near the Plenty River.

The Wesleyans acquired their own house of worship in Hailes Street. This weatherboard church was still being used as a worship centre in 1872, when it was decided to build a new church in Main Street. Construction was completed in 1873.

The Main Street Church served the congregation well, but by the 1960s it was decided to sell the old building and invest in a new home.

The new church cost including furniture 57,695.

The land for the current church was purchased in 1962 from the estate of Mrs White and architects Alexander Harris and Associates, engaged to design the building. The builders were CD Mason Pty Ltd; construction commenced on 31 July 1965. The foundation stone was laid in the same month by the President of the Methodist Conference of Victoria and Tasmania, the Rev. Charles Gallacher, MA, BD, Dip Ed on 31 July 1965. The church was opened on Saturday 5 February 1966 by the then President of the Methodist Conference, the Rev. Reginald J. Philip, L Th.

Today, the church has the titles of Living Faith Church, The Uniting Church and Church of Christ Greensborough.
