History and Architecture:
During 1933 the original timber building was renovated. From a newspaper clipping. In 1933 the foundation stone of a new nave, which is being built at Holy Trinity Church, Hastings, was laid by Archbishop Head yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large congregation.
The church is being rebuilt. The nave was constructed of brick. There will be a more elaborate chancel. Accommodation will be provided for 50 more people.
In laying the stone Archbishop Head said that there was something inspiring in the gathering under the trees. Those present were beginning a new church in a comparatively new parish in a comparatively new district, and yet they were part of the old Church of God, which had existed for centuries and in which their ancestors had worshipped in the motherland.
