History and Architecture:

A Plaque on the church wall reads,
"This Church dedicated to S. Agnes V.M. was blessed and opened on Wednesday 10 September 1969 by Archbishop J Knox D.D. Parish Priest Fr G. Quilter. The Church was built as a Peace Memorial for those who died Defending their country R.I.P. This stone commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Parish 13 May 1951 13 May 2001. Celebrated with Solemn Mass by Archbishop D Hart D.D. The statue of St Agnes was Dedicated on 8 December 2001. To the honour and Glory of God. Parish Priest Fr C Clarke, Pastoral Asst R Mahoney, Manager M Smith, Secretary K Meiklejohn Principle A Mullaly, Architect McGarthy Collins, Builder J Buckley, Bronze Statue Sr G O'Leary".
