History and Architecture:

Kameruka parish is of respectable antiquity. Its independent status dates from 1877, but ministrations from  much earlier than that. The Rev. E.G. Pryce records a baptism at "Walumla" in 1846, and the Rev. Edward Synge a visit to Kameruka in 1855.

In 1864 the district became part of the Bega-Pambula-Eden charge, but it is not until 1868 that "Kamaruka", as it was then spelt, makes its appearance in diocesan records. In that year the Bishop preached for the Church Society there in April and the collection was £3. Later in the year the Rev. J.L. Knight appealed for the Church Society and "Kamaruka" responded with 2.12.6 and Wolumla with 12/1. The next year what the Bishop called  "a Church of admirable design" was built at Kameruka, the site for Church, Glebe and Cemetery all being given by Sir. Robert Lucas Tooth Bart.
