History and Architecture:
The Church is now closed, and is used by the Uniting Church's welfare agency.
Several Foundation stones were laid over time on reading "On 25th September, 1880, the Foundation Stone was laid by Mrs J. T. Bryant, and the work was proceeded with, the opening services being performed on 12th and 19th December the same year. In 1893 additions to the rear of the Church were carried out and a Foundation stone was laid reading "The Foundation Stone was laid on 22nd October by Mrs F. Colwell.
In July, 1963, the Rev. Allan Walker requested the purchase of vacant land adjoining the Church for the erection of a Home for children
as a “Gateway ” before entering their permanent foster-homes. The foundation stone was laid on 16th April, 1964, at 2.30 p.m.
