History and Architecture:

Originally built by Roberts Ltd., of Adelaide, it was rebuilt by Hill, Norman and Beard of Melbourne. In 1949-50 all the underaction was replaced. In 1961, a new console was built and installed by S T Noad & Son of Sydney.

The architect was Mr J Barr A.R.I.B.A. and the building supervisor was Mr J Harriwell. The building is described as English Perpendicular Gothic. Materials needed for the building were brought in along a rail link which had serviced the brick quarry. The building measures 99 feet x 45 feet, with a height of 39 feet. The spire rises to 98 feet.

The supervising contractor was J. Halliwell, the stonemasons were from Loveridge and Hudson, under the direction of old Thomas Loveridge himself.

The Sydney Morning Herald or 26 November 1928 reported.  "The opening and dedication of the Hoskins memorial Church, commenced during the lifetime of the late Mr. Charles H. Hoskins as a family memorial, and completed in the terms of his will by his widow and children. took place this afternoon. The magnificent building was overcrowded, several hundreds of people being turned away. Outside the Church Cecil H. Hopkins, who handed over the property to the Rev. John Mete's, Clerk of the Assembly, on behalf of the general trustees, said that his late father had many troubles as well as blessings in life".
