Built of local stone, the foundation stone was laid July 1845, opened 1846. Nave and chancel erected about twenty years later. The roof is now corrugated galvanised iron, walls cement rendered.
The newer and larger church was erected in 1971. The Foundation stone was laid on 28 November by the Most Reverend J.W. Gleeson Archbishop of Adelaide.
