History and Architecture:

"The Methodist Magazine” described the new building as capable of seating about 300 worshippers and referred particularly to a handsome rostrum, the work of Mr Walter, snr. This handsome 1864 Church of blue granite stone, like the pillars of the General Post Office, Sydney, was erected during the Ministry of the Rev. W. Wilson and the marble Font was the gift of Mr. Shottin. The ironwork was by Mr. Williams.

The Foundation Stone of the Church was laid by Mr Jacob Luck on Thursday, May 7, 1863, and the building was opened for divine service in December, 1884.
