History and Architecture:

The original church congregation was almost entirely from the rural community, but during the 1960's, with the rapid :.x-pansion of the mining industry, it became apparent that a church building in the town was not only desirable, but indeed, a necessity, as the many church activities were so scattered.
In fact, church services were held at the School of Arts, and Sunday School at Mrs. Marshall's Kindergarten (site of the present Moura School of Ballet on the Dawson Highway).

In August 1966 the Management Committee met with congregation to accept tender from Mr. E. Rosenblatt to build a church and Sunday School Hall combined with a kitchen and a vestry, the sum $ 17,666.00 plus 7% architect fees. Local working bees erected the concrete stumps.

Rev. P.L. Gordon, Moderator of the Presbytery of Rockhampton officially dedicated the new Moura Presbyterian church on 26th February, 1967.
