History and Architecture:
In 1882, it started as a preaching station out of Parkside Baptist and by 1884 it was recognised as a church in its own right and a member church of the South Australian Baptist Union (now Baptist Churches SA).
The church was built in 1883, funded very largely by Mr G.S. Fowler, who also regularly provided funds for payment of its ministers. His son J.R. Fowler continued this support and consequently the church was commonly referred to as ‘Fowler’s Church’.
Arrangements were made with the Glen Osmond Institute Committee to hold Divine Services commencing Sunday 1 October 1882. By February 1883 £80 had been donated towards the cost of the church and the committee decided to call for tenders. In March it was decided to erect a part of the church according to plan and the tender of Messers W Pound to build the same for £410 was accepted.
A Foundation stone reads, " This Memorial stone was laid by B. Fox Mellor Esq 1st May 1883" An inscription on the Church Hall reads " In memory of our fallen Heroes. Built for the children they died to save".
