History and Architecture:
The Foundation stone was laid on 4 December 1926 by the Archbishop of Melbourne. The Architects were Sale and Keage. The 'Diggers' Club' of Christ Church Newport, conducted an Anzac Day service in the Parish Hall on 25 April 1920. The collection was devoted entirely to the church's memorial window fund.
In 2014 the bell tower of the church, built in the 1920s, collapsed after a tree crashed through the roof during a storm last year.
