History and Architecture:

In the Wimmera the first know church service was held at the Nhill Station Homestead by Reverend James Clow in 1848.

The first service was held on 12 July 1889. The land for the present church was purchased in the same year for 100. The present building was erected in 1889, opened on July 12 and cost 468.00. It was built by Mr H Gunn.

Due to a shortage of funds the regular Minister of 1891 was let go in 1894 and Home Missions replaced a regular Minister.

In 1897 a severe cyclone hit Nhill and the church was one of the few buildings that survived. Until repairs were made services were held in the Masonic Hall. The Church was reopened in June 1898.
