History and Architecture:

The first stage of the church was erected in 1866. A Gothic Revival Church built of hard Freestone cut from the site, having a long buttressed nave and spire rising to 80ft over the entrance porch. Enlarged in 1870, southern extension 1881, nave extended and rose window installed 1906. Re-roofed in slate 1927.

Organ:

The organ was built by Maley, Young & Oldknow in 1884 ( 2/12 mechanical). Only one of their instruments is known to have come to Australia and this was installed in St Peter's in 1885.
