History and Architecture:
A Foundation stone inaugurating the Parish of St Thomas More was blessed and laid by Most Rev J. Duhig D.D. Archbishop of Brisbane. June 3rd 1951".
A further foundation stone reads, " This Church of St Thomas More extended and renovated by the combined efforts of the Parishioners and the Italian Community was solemnly blessed by His Grace Francis R. Rush D.D. Archbishop of Brisbane 7th October 1973 Fr Claude OGM CAP Pastor".
