History and Architecture:
The Church was built between 1907 and 1908 and extended in 1956. The building was completed in eight months at a total cost of about £1370. Architectural work was the combined effort of two members of the congregation. Gorrie Blair, an architect in the Colonial Architect’s Department, did the design and detailed draw ings, while specifications and superintendency of the building work were the responsibility of John Shedden Adam, who for many years was Honorary Consulting Architect to the Presbyterian Church of N.S.W. The original plans were for a building about twice the size of that actually constructed (which probably explains the considerable height of the roof in relation to the building’s length). The 1907 decision was to build only the “nave”, which was to provide seating accommodation for 200-250.
A Foundation stone reads, "This stone was laid by Miss Margaret Harris on 2nd Nov 1907".
